This was a continuation from my very first 3D modeling project, in which I modeled a simple bicycle. After one semester of improvement, I decided to revisit my first model and make a scene with more narrative. I remembered the flying bike from Hayao Miyazaki's film "Kiki's Delivery Service", and the amount of magic that film had made me feel. The flying bike represented an age of exploration, not only in terms of the time period, but also the young protagonists' curiosity to experience the world.
This is how I imagined the garage in which the flying bike was created: a den of creativity, hardwork, dream for flight, and thirst for adventure.
From my original bike model, I altered some gear and chain structure on the bike, and added the large propeller at the front of the model. I populated the scene with blueprints and posters, paint cans and tools. Texturing/Shading, lighting, and rendering were done in VRay. There is an ambient occlusion pass overlayed on top of the base render.
